#780 – RIP Champion Willow Creena – August 3, 2019

This is a very different post than the one I had planned to write.    Willow passed away last evening at the age of 14 1/2.  It would have been Paul’s dad’s 99th birthday.  Paul figures that Bumpa will keep a good eye on her.

A dog is more than just a part of your family; they hold such a big piece of your heart.  Today I will just share some of my favorite pictures of Willow and favorite memories.  She was beautiful inside and out.

She always loved the outdoors; just sitting and being.

She also loved her family.  Her smile says it all!

She loved her toys; especially if you would throw them and she got to chase them.

That face and those beautiful brown eyes.

We loved celebrating her birthday every year.

It is always amazing how animals find that one spot of sunshine in the room.

Willow loved to sleep in.

She loved her walks.

She loved to chew her bones and wonder how the trash ended up like that. 🙂

You could never be too rich, too thin or have too many bones.

Helping prep for card classes was exhausting work.

Oops…now this is why we can’t have nice things. 🙂

I always loved this picture of her waking up in the morning.

Resting after a haircut.  She needed a sweater to keep warm.

She wasn’t happy when we put a temporary barrier up to keep her from going in the basement.

She loved corn on the cob (with supervision of course)

Snowface!  Willow did not like to be hot!  Her favorite season was winter!
She loved running in the snow.

Hmmm…I wonder how these got here???

She accepted Panda into the family, and later Orion.

Celebrate every moment and every milestone.

She enjoyed life to the fullest!  That is the biggest Willow takeaway.  Love, be loved and enjoy!

RIP Willow Creena!  You will forever live in our hearts!!!

#779 – Santorini – August 2, 2019

Day 3 of the cruise – Royal Caribbean “Jewel of the Seas”

I love how the cruise ship helps us keep track of days and our schedule.  Great for vacation brains!

1st stop – Hospitality Suite – All the treat jars were magically refilled overnight

Even the candy is blingy!

My hospitality suite prize for the day, “Star Designer Elements”.  They are copper in color and come with 40 pieces.  LOVE!

I love this new ribbon coming in the Holiday catalog.

“Most Wonderful Time” Product Medley – We received this medley as a pillow gift.

Our breakfast view from the back of the ship

Got together with Lorri Heiling for a quick picture

Time for our excursion in Santorini, exploring the Village of Oia.

The color of blue is indescribable!

Santorini has beautiful blue water, white buildings, often with blue roofs…it is the Greece you think of from photographs.

Could we look any more touristy with our yellow bus sticker???  No, I think not.

What would a trip to Greece be without a gyro?

The real thing looked even better than the picture on the menu.  I can tell you this much…the food in Greece is AMAZING!  I have tried Greek food in the US, and I have never been impressed.  The real deal is so tender and fresh!

Thank goodness for ice.  Very hot day!

Paul is happy…he got his hat and a gyro!

Lots of ambiance with the outdoor cafes.

Learning tip for today’s post:  A gyro or gyros is a Greek dish made from meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie. In Greece it is now most often pork or chicken, while a mixture of beef and lamb is common in the US and other countries.

Then we took a short bus ride to the shopping district.

There is just something fascinating about the doors in Greece and Italy.

Time for a gelato break.

Quite the view from our rooftop restaurant.  You can see our cruise ship.

Paul wanted to try ouzo and I fell in love with sparkling lemonade in Greece.
Learning tip #2 for the day:  Ouzo is a dry anise-flavoured aperitif that is widely consumed in Greece , Cyprus and North Macedonia.  Its taste is similar to other anise liquors like rakı, arak, pastis and sambuca.

We initially took the bus up and took a cable car back down.

Or we could have taken the 587 steps…or not. 🙂  I heard that they were pretty smooth and slippery.  No thanks…did I mention that it was a really hot day?

Back on board the ship, just in time for dinner.

You can’t have a cruise without lobster.

Ending the night listening to music.

#778 – At Sea – Day #2 of Cruise – August 1, 2019

Tonight was formal dinner on the cruise, so I added a little bling.  My dress reminds me of a floral DSP.

Met up with some friends for a quick hello before dinner.

Laura Milligan and her four beautiful daughters!

Every night for dinner we could choose an appetizer, entree and a dessert.

One of the best parts of cruising, is the food!  A great variety! No prep or clean up!

Risotto is always a good choice!

Creme Brulee is always my favorite choice for dessert!

Paul’s dinner choice.

Tomorrow I will share Day #3/Tues. of the cruise and I trip to Santorini, Greece.  I love this man and his smile.  He is a good guy!

Switching back to the present.  Today my assistant Paula was over. We finished up prep for Stamp Camp this Sat. and then we started working on swap cards for the new Holiday catalog.  Panda was helping out as a card stand.

Today we celebrated Orion’s fourth birthday.  We are not quite sure when his birthday is, but we figure we are somewhere in the ballpark.  Orion was found under our neighbor’s porch when he was a kitten.  All together there were five kittens, and my daughter Matisse, was the first one to choose a kitten.  Matisse moved into a place that did not allow pets and that is the story of how we got Orion.  He was happy yesterday, because he got fresh melon!

Winner for today’s drawing is:  Deb E. Ring
Look for happy mail coming your way!

Thursday Smiles…

This picture seemed timely with Orion’s birthday!
